Penser à adapter le chemin vers le dossier de votre Tomcat (cf. $CATALINA_HOME) et le chemin vers la JVM ($JAVA_HOME).

Ajout du script init au système

Il faut d'abord rendre le script /etct/init.d/tomcat-front|back.sh executable par le système puis on l'ajoute aux scripts démarrer par défaut : 

chmod u=rwx,g=rx,o=x tomcat6*
update-rc.d tomcat6-front.sh defaults

On fait un petit test pour vérfier qu'il n'y a pas d'erreur : 

/etc/init.d/tomcat6-front.sh restart

Les logs de tomcat

Important :

Selon les serveurs et les distributions, le serveur Apache Tomcat se trouve dans des répertoires différents. Il faut donc :

  1. localiser Tomcat ;
  2. définir la variable tomcatDir.

/usr/bin/apr-1-config est le chemin par défaut du binaire APR. Ce chemin peut changer suivant la version de la librairie APR.

La fin de l'installation doit se terminer par les lignes suivantes :

Et enfin ajouter dans /etc/init.d/tomcat ou par exemple dans ~/.profile, la variable d'environnement LD_LIBRARY_PATH des librairies de Tomcat :

Dans le cas de l'utilisation du fichier ~/.profile, le shell courant prendra en charge la nouvelle configuration de ce fichier grace à la commande :

On vérifie la prise en charge de l'APR par Tomcat :

On redémarre Tomcat :

$CATALINA_HOME/bin/catalina.sh start

Le fichier de log $CATALINA_HOME/logs/catalina.out doit contenir les lignes suivantes :
